College Senator Candidate

My name is Brandon Neiswonger and I am a double major in political science and philosophy from Mounsville, West Virginia. On campus, I’m the Associate Director of the Mountaineer Maniacs. Since I turned 3 years old, I’ve only missed 2 home WVU football games!

Nothing brings me greater joy than working to make our home among the hills a more perfect place.

Brooklyn Dawn Milam

She/ Her / Hers

On campus, I’m involved with WVU Believe Them, Omega Phi Alpha, NSSLHA, CHAARG, UNICEF, WVU Healthy Minds, FBA, SAA, Students for Reproductive Justice, Women in Politics and Government and Clear the Stress. Jillian Blair

She / Her / Hers

College Senator Candidate

My name is Jillian Blair and I am a environmental and energy resources management major with dual minors in sustainable design and geology from Wheeling, West Virginia. On campus, my extracurriculars include involvement with WVU Sierra Student Coalition Secretary, Davis Michael Sustainability Fellows Leadership Board, Beekeeping Club, and Printmaking Club, being a Honors Student Ambassador, Presidential Student Ambassador, the sustainable development intern for the Center for Resilient Communities and serving as the VP of Honors Student Association. A fun fact about me is that my first concert was Paul McCartney and the Wings at Yankee Stadium!

I originally intended to try to impact campus through student orgs, but after meeting the people of SGA, I was struck by their drive and passion for interdisciplinary collaboration. I knew I had to become a part of that cause.

Lauren Marquart

She / Her / Hers

College Senator Candidate

My name is Lauren Marquart and I am an elementary education major from Wheeling, West Virginia. On campus, I’m a CEHS Student Ambassador. I’m also a third generation Mountaineer!

I wanted to run for the CEHS Senator position within SGA to be able to use my voice to advocate for the students of my college & to encourage all members of SGA & WVU to keep our education in the forefront of everyone’s mind. As an education major, I value the need for a good education, but I also value the idea that we need to enjoy the education we are receiving. It is my goal as a Senator in SGA to make sure both of those needs are met.

Matthew Hudson

He / Him / His

College Senator Candidate

My name is Matthew Hudson and I am an immunology and medical microbiology major from Teays Valley, West Virginia. On campus, I serve as the VP of WVU Global Medical and Dental Brigades, as a Presidential Student Ambassador, the School of Medicine Undergraduate Programs Ambassador, and as a member of Chimes Junior Honor Society. Additionally, I volunteer at Pantry Plus More and work as an undergraduate researcher at WVU’s Vaccine Development Center. A fun fact about me is that I enjoy baking desserts from new recipes in my free tine.

I’m running as a Health Sciences Senator for WVU Student Government Association to be an advocate and a liaison between our institution’s governing bodies and my peers at HSC. For too long, students at the Health Sciences campus have expressed feelings of isolation from the remainder of WVU’s campus … To give life to the University is to create spaces that foster connections – beyond the confines of a classroom or library.

Megan Skean

She / Her / Hers

My name is Megan Skean and I am a political science major with an area of emphasis in pre-law and legal studies from Huntington, West Virginia. On campus, I’m involved with Women in Law, Women in Politics and Government, Active Minds WVU, Student Sierra Coalition, and WVU Honors Student Association. A fun fact about me is that I don’t own a TV and can’t remember the last time I watched a show!

I am committed to representing our student body and working to build a better campus community. This position would empower me as a student by providing me with an active voice to foster support for mental health initiatives, student engagement, and sustainable environmental efforts at West Virginia University.

Quinn Wooten

He / Him / His

My name is Quinn Wooten and I am a double major in political science and international studies with a minor in Russian studies from Charleston, West Virginia. On campus, I’m involved with the Government Relations Committee. A fun fact about me is that I love to watch movies!

I’m running to advocate for the student body and create good change!

Rushik Patel

He / Him / His

College Senator Candidate

My name is Rushik Patel and I am a biomedical engineering major and a leadership studies minor from Charleston, West Virginia. On campus, I’m involved with Quiz Bowl and Club Tennis. I also enjoy playing chess in my free time!

As a Statler College Senator, I hope to focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts for students. I want to increase the number of safe spaces available for students in the College of Engineering. One idea I have is to start a mentoring program for first-year and underrepresented freshman students in engineering. Through this initiative, incoming students can have someone to serve as a mentor who has been in their shoes. I plan on listening to the concerns of all engineering students and proposing legislation that will benefit the Statler College.

Sandrik Tabidze

He / Him / His

College Senator Candiate

My name is Sandrik Tabidze and I am a biomedical engineering major and computer science minor from Atlanta, Georgia. On campus, I’m a member of the Global Medical and Dental Brigades. Off campus, I like to play soccer, guitar, and cook. A fun fact about me is that I can speak Russian!

I wanted to run for Senator of the Statler college to be able to advocate for diversity and inclusion, to address issues on health and wellness, and to become a voice for my peers in the Statler College and the university as a whole. I strongly believe that it is the student body that makes this university so great, and it is the passion they have that makes this university an even better place. Alongside fellow Senators and leaders amongst SGA, my goal is to make a lasting impact on all current and prospective students.
